May is National Military Appreciation Month
First declared by Congress in 1999, May was selected as 31 days to honor the sacrifices of the men and women who are serving and have served in our military. Specific dates during this month include:
- Loyalty Day on May 1st, VE (Victory in Europe) Day on May 8th, the day World War II ended in 1945;
- Military Spouses Day on May 10th
- Armed Forces Day on May 18th, and Memorial Day.
- Memorial Day – May 27th
